THE SHORT ANSWER

Helion uses basic attacks to prepare an enhanced skill. Lunara casts a skill first, then spends its marks through basic hits for extra damage and healing.

Before you choose

Our suggestion: choose Helion if you enjoy building basic attacks into a stronger skill, or Lunara if you prefer using a skill before a run of empowered basic hits. These recommendations describe an attack rhythm, not a tested damage ranking.

Do not base your choice on a promise that the other companion can be caught later. It is not yet confirmed how to obtain the other starter or change your initial choice.

Think beyond your first companion

Our suggestion: compare movement and supporting abilities when building a team, as well as damage. The companion you enjoy using is a starting point for exploration, not a complete team on its own.

A few things to keep separate

  • A story companion and a first wild catch are different questions.
  • An official skill description is not a tested tier ranking.
  • Evolution and alternate forms should be checked for each individual companion.
